SUPPLIES
thumb-size amount of Fresh Organic Ginger (finely grated)
Water as needed
1 Large Dinner Plate
3 Thin (Kitchen) Towels
1 Thick Towel or Blanket
4-5 drops Cedarwood Essential Oil
4-5 drops Rosemary Essential Oil
1-2 drops Clove Essential Oil
4-5 drops Myrrh Essential Oil
4-5 drops Lemon Essential Oil

INSTRUCTIONS
To make Thick Ginger Tea

Grate Ginger. It should be approximately 2 Tbsp once finely grated.
Pour just enough water to cover the ginger in a shallow saucepan.
Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Reduce heat to maintain a simmer for 15-20 minutes. Ensure that water stays covering the ginger at all times and pot does not boil dry.
After 15-20 minutes, remove from heat and use the Thick Ginger Tea to create the Ginger Compress.

To create the Ginger Compress
Unfold and lay flat on a large dinner plate the 1st Thin Towel
Unfold and lay flat the 2nd Thin Towel on top of the first.
Scoop the hot Thick Ginger Tea with pulp onto the top towel. Make sure it is as hot as possible that won’t burn the intended recipient (approximately 100° for children).
Spread the Thick Ginger Tea on the towel so that it will cover an area of the towel that is approximately the same size as the chest of the recipient.
Unfold 3rd Thin Towel on top of the current prepared towels.

To Apply Treatment
For children or people with extremely sensitive skin, apply a layer of carrier oil (organic avocado, olive, coconut, etc. oil) on chest.
Put essential oils on chest over the lungs in this order, gently spreading after each oil is applied:
 – Cedar wood (4-5 drops): helps to relax bronchial spasming
 – Rosemary (4-5 drops):
 – Cardamom (4-5 drops):
 – Clove (1-2 drops):
 – Myrrh (3-4 drops):
 – Lemon (3-4 drops): powerful antiviral
Place Ginger Compress on chest (slide gently off of the plate), and apply on area over the lungs.
Cover with Thick Towel or Blanket to hold in heat.
Keep on chest and let it sit up to 30 minutes or as long as recipient can tolerate it.

NOTE: The recipient applying the compress may sweat and turn red.

CAUTION: Monitor children carefully. This should NEVER burn.

This can also be applied on the back over the lung area.
If using to help with croup, percussion on the back after treatment is a good follow-up.
