Ingredients
1 Bag (3+ lbs) apples (Granny Smith or other somewhat tart, firm apples)
*if you like a sweeter pie, use Pink Lady or Cripps Pink apples
¼-½ Cup sugar (to taste based on type of apples)
1 Dash salt
2-4 Tbsp Flour
Cinnamon
Butter

Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Peel, core and slice apples into desired size.
Mix with cinnamon, sugar, salt, and flour.
Pour into unbaked pie shell (use more apples for a deep dish pie plate).
Put 4 large pats of butter on top of apples.
Cover with top crust and make holes in crust to vent apples.
Bake until apples are fork tender – usually 40-50 minutes at 375°F.

*Tip – using a pie crust shield will help prevent the edges of the crust from getting too dark or burned.
