Mix together:
- 8 cups fresh blackberries, washed, drained well
- 1/4 cup (or less) granulated white sugar
- 4 tsp lemon juice
- (Optional) add a sprinkle of cornstarch to thicken juice from berries.
Pour berries into 9×12 baking dish.
Topping:
- 1-1/3 cup flour
- 1-1//3 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 tsp cinnamon
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 2 pinches of salt
- 2 sticks softened butter (or substitute 1 cup coconut oil) – use just enough to make it crumbly but not dry so may be less than the full cup
Use a mixer or pastry cutter to mix together until crumbly.
Pour over berries, can gently press together to form more of a crust layer if desired.
Bake at 375 for 30-45 min
