Ingredients
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
4 Tbsp butter
2 eggs
¼ tsp salt
¼ cup cream or half-n-half
Grated rind of 1 lemon (or sub 1 tsp “Realemon”)
2-3 pounds “prune plumbs” (or other fruit), pitted and sliced

Directions
– Mix ingredients like pie crust. (Best results: use a fork or pastry blender)
– Add lemon rind after dough is mixed. Blend thoroughly.
– Add enough cream or half-n-half to make batter spreadable, but still stiff/thick.
– Spread ½ to ⅝” thickness on greased sheet(s).
– Top with sliced fruit. Leave about ½” between slices.
– Place 1/10 tbsp (⅙ pat) of butter on each slice of fruit.
– Sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.
– Bake at 350° F for about 18-22 minutes, or until light golden-brown.
– Cool slightly before serving. May be frozen in sealed bags.

Makes one full-sheet of kuchen; serves about 8
